Or unplug and plug USB device or eject and put the CD/DVD/BR disc to change of 'ISO'. be sure when you 'eject' it GREEN LED is blinking and when you put one 'new' media GREEN LED is unblinking.
The method is rotatory so when it use the last ISO it switches to the first ISO. NOTE: You can keep a BR disc in tray without problem in the patched PSX Emu. Ejecting the disc is unnecessary to play any game. I risMANAGE R - UPDATE FEB. 04, 2013: Iris doesn't require ps1emu patching anymore since version 1.60 beta 2. It is also recommended to always use for all the PSX Games the Game Setting emulator: ps1netemu. If it fails, then switch to ps1emu.
Update details. ATTENTION: the new method do not require ps1emu or ps1netemu patched Adding PSX isos for Iris Manager 1.60+:.Create PSXGAMES folder in root of HDD or USB devices. Put the PSX game folder here. The name of the folder is used as game name from Iris Manager.
PSX game files must be.iso,.bin,.img,.mdf (Alcohol 120) (or with caps.BIN,.IMG.) containing sectors 2048 or 2336 or 2352 or 2448 bytes. You can put from 1 to 8 files with isos. NEW!!!: Add.cue or.toc files (Iris Manager generate.toc when you copy your original CD) WITH THE SAME NAME as.iso,.bin,.img, etc. (Iris Manager ignore 'FILE' token in the.cue file) with the tracks info, for Games with Audio tracks.
DONĀ“T USE.cue with WAV/MP3 files!! All audio datas must be contained in the.bin/.img file file. Iris Manager use 'TRACK', 'MODE2', 'AUDIO' and 'INDEX 1' tokens to create the TOC for the game.
Old School Gamer Magazine was created to fill a hole in the retro gaming community in the US. Old School Gamer readers are reliving their childhood,.
If the game contain one track with DATAS only, Iris Manager can build the TOC data itself (internally psxstorage can also work, by default, with only ISO datas). Iris manager get it in alphanumerical order. When you launch a game with multiple isos you can rotate the order in one screen in the last moment. Only one rule for multiple isos: they must have the same sector size in all!. You can put a COVER.JPG file (max size of 1024 x 1024 pixels). PSX config is saved in the game folder Example of game structure.
Code: /devusb000/PSXGAMES/Metal Gear Solid - COVER.JPG - the cover - MGS1.cue - disc 1 - MGS1.IMG - disc 1 - MGS2.cue - disc 2 - MGS2.IMG - disc 2 - psxconfig.cfg - psx config. Saved from Iris Manager (Memory Card, Video Options.) In gaming: Iris Manager mount USB/ BDVD and HDD0 in this preference order to change virtually the disc. The method is rotatory so when it use the last iso it turn to the first iso. NOTE: You can use a BR disc without problem in the patched PSX Emu. Eject the media is unnecessary to play the game. CHEATS: create /PSXGAMES/CHEATS folder and put here the.bin,.img.
File of cheat disc. This file must be with 2352 bytes per sector because it can be used to create different versions (2048, 2368. Per sector) When you launch a game, if cheat disc exist, the program ask if you want to use it. Cheat disc is mounted as first disc and region video is obtained from the second disc (for example, if you use the Xploder 4 NTSC, but the game is PAL, you can force 576p in the options but also it is possible you use 'Region Disc' option and now the game disc is the second disc). To change the disc remember to use one USB device (unplug/plug) o one disc (eject/put) in other case Copying PSX games from the PS3:. Put a disc, press SELECT and use the 'Copy Game' option.
Use the keyboard to create the folder name to install it (prevent you about char codes stranges: utf8 is supported with spanish charset). It copy the disc in the internal HDD. When a disc is copied, it ask if you want to copy others disc. If you cancel the copy, you can delete. the actual disc or all. You can install others disc more later, skipping the files when it exist. External ROM:.
Put in /devhdd0/game/IMANAGER4 the ps1rom.bin file. Enable in Video / Others 'External ROM' Launching with Disc Ejected with external ROM in ISO Mode:. Press CIRCLE + CROSS to 'Eject Disc' before to launch PS1 Emu.
It is thinking to access to the original memory card manager. To launch the game unplug/plug the USB device one time to mount the ISO NOTE: Recommended Emulator: ps1netemu TIP 1: How to use Iris Manager only as a PSX Game Emulator. Make sure that you don't have any folder named GAMEZ in your HDDs. If you do, please move them all to your GAMES folders and delete the GAMEZ folder afterward. In Iris Manager go to your Global Options by pressing the START button. Select ' Change Game Directory'. When prompted to scan the GAMES folder select NO.
When promoted to scan the GAMEZ folder select YES. If you did everything correctly, Iris Manager will now list only your PSX Games from the folder: PSXGAMES. You can also switch the icon ( ICON0.PNG) for Iris Manager with the one attached below. (use FTP or File Manager to change it) - Or you can install the theme PKG that was created by brunolee - click here for more details:.thanks to BahamutLord for this Tip!
TIP 2: Don't use SPACES, SYMBOLS or VERY LONG NAMES for your ISOs. Iris Manager Saves: Before you run the PSX game for the first time, it is always best to go into the game's options and change anything and then set it back to default, and then exit. Iris will prompt you to save your changes, and you always select YES.
Under MC Slot 1: leave it at: InternalMC.VM1 - seems to be the best choice. For Example on how to make an adjustment and then return back to default: Under the Video Options in the Game's Options menu, switch from Auto to 4:3 then back to Auto again. as long as you make a change-even if you return to the default setting, when you exit the game's option menu, it will create the necessary files-well it will prompt you if you want to save the changes-select YES. This action causes Iris to save some changes for the game, at the same time it creates the InternalMC.VM1 file. I don't know if this is a bug, but this is a good workaround. I normally leave everything at default and 'Auto' for all my PSX games.
But in order for Iris to create the game save, you must adjust anything-even if you then go back to the default setting. As long as you change something and then return it back to the default setting, it will create the VMI file when you exit the game options menu-well it will prompt you if you want to save the changes-select YES.
After that, you can play the game and do your game saves from that point forward. You won't have to repeat this again for that particular game. I hope this tip helps you out. MultiMAN Saves: Saves in multiMAN does not clash with saves from IrisManager.
MultiMAN saves the name of the save according to the name of your ISO for that game. These saves are also saved in the PSX Game folder. TIP 4: Tutorial - How to Run Xploder Cheat Codes on Iris Manager and multiMAN for PSX Game ISOs: NOTE: This only works for PSX games ON Iris Manager or multiMAN on the Internal HDD: /devhdd0/PSXGAMES. Update: Jan 17, 20 1 3: IrisManager has added a new feature that makes CHEAT program X PL ODER run easier to set up. Ple ase read below the guide for just Iris Manager for more details. Things you need: For IrisManager Only:. Xploder v4 Pro Media Edition (Download Attachment Below) (you can also choose to use multMAN 04.19.01).
IrisManager version 1.54 - supports CHEAT folder for all games. MultiMAN - only to use File Manager.
Some basic knowledge on how to copy and paste files in multiMAN's File Manager / mmOS. Some basic knowledge on how to use Cheat Apps. PART 1: Setting up Xploder V4 for the first time. COVER.JPG - Cover Art of Xploder. FTP or Copy over the ISO and COVER to your PS3 Internal HDD: /devhdd0/PSXGAMES/CHEATS. Don't use the XploderV4 folder-that's not needed anymore for IRIS. So when you copy over the file, your directory should look like this: (see above).
Run IrisManager locate CHEATS (Xploder)-you should spot the Xploder's Game Cover. Press SELECT (to open GAME OPTIONS). For MC SLOT 1 (use Internal Memory Card.VM1) - it seems to work best with that option. Leave everything else default and press the Return button. Select YES to ' Save PSX options?' .
Press OK to ' PSX Options Saved'. From this point forward, you will no longer need to run Xploder directly from it's own Game Icon in Iris Manager. Actually it will not even allow you to.
PART 2: Running PSX Games in IrisManger with X ploder Cheats. As I said in PART 1. You will no longer need to run the Xploder Icon on IRIS. To run a cheat, you just run the PSX Game in IrisManager. It will tell you if you want to run the CHEAT mode or not. If you select YES it will launch Xploder.
If you select NO it will run just the Game without Cheats. Okay for this tutorial, you selected YES to run Xploder. You will see the the XploderV4 will run. if it asks you to create a memory slot-allow it-this should have been done on Part 1, but go ahead anyways. Open the Cheats Menu.
Make sure you are in the correct Country (Flag) If not, press Select until you are in the correct mode that is the same as the game's region. Press the right DPAD to open the game's List of Cheats. Press O Button to select the list cheats for a game you want enabled (if you press O again it will unselect it).
Once you have the cheats you want enabled for the game, press START. Now select Start Game and run it. Select ' With Cheats'. TIP: you must have a USB device connected to the PS3. It has to be a USB device that Iris detects in the Manager. When you see the screen with a spinning CD and says START GAME, unplug all your USB device(s) until your PS3's green LED on the ON/OFF button turns off.
Once the green LED turns off, press O button on the controller and insert back the USB device(s) - well the one that Iris detects. The spinning disc icon will freeze and then a screen will later appear saying Booting Please Wait. Just wait a minute or two. It seems to start working as soon as the GREEN LED on your PS3's ON/OFF button turns on.
To me this is a very strange procedure, but it's the only workaround provided by the developer of the Iris Manager as to how to switch to another ISO when a game has more than one. Once your PSX Game starts, you are home free. Whenever you want to start another game with cheats, you just repeat the process. PART 3: Enjoy! Important Tips:.
Don't select too many cheats for a game. Sometimes it clashes and makes the game not work. So take baby steps first until you see which work or not.
You need to have a USB device that Iris detects in order to do PART 3 correctly. If the Green LED doesn't turn off, then keep pulling all your USB devices or HUBs until it does. I really hate this, I am lazy to get off my chair! I hope a better solution later gets implemented for this step. More to come when I think of them. COVER.JPG - Cover Art of Xploder.
FTP or Copy over the folder XploderV4 to your PS3 Internal HDD: /devhdd0/PSXGAMES/ (This will only work on Internal HDD for now). So when you copy over the file, your directory should look like this: (see above). In multiMAN go to PSX Retro locate DISC1 for XPLODERV4 folder. Now Run XploderV4 by pressing X button.
When you first run Xploder it will tell you it needs to create a memory slot. Press O button and allow it. Be sure to Press O and not X. X is to Skip or exit. (If you screw this up, restart Xploder again.). Mini Tutorial for Xploder GUI:. When you select anything press O Button.
When you go into Select Cheats you can press SELECT to change the flag ( country) of the cheat lists. This is important to do when you load a Game that is either NTSC or PAL. USA cheats will not work on EURO games and vice-versa. Once changing the region/country preference, just press ' Start' without selecting any cheats.
It will prompt to save configuration and you can now exit the program (Return to XMB). You no longer need to do anything more with it. From this point forward, you will no longer need to run Xploder directly from it's own Game Icon in multIMAN Manager. PART 2: Setting up Paste Links with multiMAN 04.19.02. Open multiMAN 04.19.01 or higher. It's important you have at least 04.19.01 since it allows you to Paste Links from files to another folder. This Paste links feature only works within the Internal HDD.
Open multiMAN's File Manager / mmOS. Go to: /devhdd0/PSXGAMES/.
Open the XploderV4 folder. Select DISC1.BIN with O button and select COPY. Now go to another PSX Game folder within /devhdd0/PSXGAMES/. For example: I have ' Ace Combat 2'. I then open that game's folder and then press O and select: Paste as Link. It creates a small 8 MB file named DISC1.BIN inside of it. Important:.
make sure that all the games ISO's are BIN files. make sure that none of your game ISO's are named DISC1.BIN - If they are, rename them so it doesn't overwrite them when you do the Paste as Link feature.
Rename your game's ISOs to DISC2.BIN and so forth.(i.e. If your game has more than one BIN, then rename them to: DISC2.BIN, DISC3.BIN. Basically this DISC1.BIN that you will be pasting will be the shortcut to XPLODER's DISC.BIN file. Note that multiMAN will create duplicated Game Covers for the shorcut and the Game in the same folder and it will display dupes as DISC1.BIN and DISC2.BIN and so on in the RETRO PSX display. You will need to repeat these steps to other PSX Games that you want to run Cheats with-it seems that just copying the first link DISC1.BIN to other games may malfunction.
So you need to repeat the process for each one by making a new 'fresh' DISC1.BIN link to each PSX Game. Exit multiMAN. PART 3: Running PSX Games in mult iMAN with X ploder Cheats. As I said in PART 1. You will no longer need to run the Xploder Icon on multiMAN.
To run a cheat, you just run the PSX Game 'DISC1.BIN' you have pasted an Xploder's link to it's folder (As instructed in PART 2). In multiMAN you need to find DISC1.BIN that shares the same game cover as your PSX Game-it is best to enable the directory information to be displayed in multiMAN settings. Okay for this tutorial, Press X so it runs from DISC1.BIN. You will see the the XploderV4 will run. if it asks you to create a memory slot-allow it-this should have been done on Step 1, but go ahead anyways.
It has to be a USB device.
Whenever you want to start another game with cheats, you just repeat Part 3. And if it's a new game that you just added to the Internal HDD, then you repeat Step 2. PART 4: Enjoy!
TIP 5: How to fetch the GAME ID of a PSX GAME ISO? Get one of these tools:. ISOBUSTER (trial version or paid version). CDMAGE (free version). DAEMON Tools Lite (free version).
Or if you have a disc version of teh game, just open it with your computer. If you only have a ISO version of the PSX Game (this process takes seconds to do):. Open either IsoBuster or CDMage and drag and drop the CUE file into the program. Once you see all the files inside the BIN (ISO). In the root of the ISO, there will be a file name with the GAME ID. With DAEMON Tools Lite: This tool is very helpful. It can mount your CUE/ISO file to make it appear in your PC that you actually have a disc in your system of the game.
Makes this easy to rip the virtual CD to make your BIN / ISO files. Well to just see the GAME ID you mount the CUE file (double-click) and DAEMON Tools Lite may open a new folder that will contain all the files inside the ISO. Or just open the virtual Disc from My Computer. TIP 6: How to use the patched ps1emu files from multiMAN with Iris? If your ISO fails, try DISC ONLY: It's been discovered that games that have been reported to fail on ISO on both Iris or multiMAN, will play fine on a CD backup (CD-R) disc and launching it on either IRIS or multiMAN. Please check the games you've reported as failing as an ISO, try mounting the game on a CD-R. If it works on Iris and multiMAN, please report.
Just state ' DISC ONLY' for compatibility and CD-R for ISO. See the chart to get an example on what I mean for those entries. I've colored them BLUE so they will be easy to spot in the list. The reason why some of these games fail on ISO format, is because both IRIS and multiMAN don't read the CUE files. The CUE files contains important information on how to load the ISO correctly as well as load background music and other features.
I think to get 100% compatibility with ISOs, both IRIS and multiMAN has to read the CUE files instead of just the ISO files. Preferably only BIN+CUE files should be the standard. This is why you will get better compatibility on CD-R than ISO. The good news, is that you will still be able to play those games that don't play correctly on ISO format. Both IRIS and multiMAN can play directly from the disc. I hope Iris can figure a way to make cheats work also with DISCS. DISC ONLY GAME SAVES: IRIS: In Iris go to Game Options for disc and select for MC SLOT 1: Internal Memory Card.VM1 multiMAN does it automatically.

Do you let me know if I make an error somewhere-I am only human.
I've also added a few more TIPS in the first post about PSX and Iris info-be sure to read it. And I want to also let you know that there is a new version of IrisManager (you can find the link to it in my first post above). And we are instructed in version 1.51 to create another patched emu (v2) of it and copy it to IrisManager folder and etc. just read the new instructions for the full download of v1.51. And be sure to re-test the games that did not work before, perhaps the issue gets fixed. Do report if it does. IrisManager 1.52: download: See Version History below.

Does this BIN come with other files, like.SUB or.WAV or something? If so, it's recommended to remount the ISO using either the CUE or CCD with DAEMON TOOLs LITE and then create a new image with IMGBURN so it's only one CUE and BIN file of the ISO. What this does is puts the extra files into the ISO.
This will fix the Sound issues.SUBs. WAVs are usually the audio parts of the game.
Back in the day, programs like CloneCD ( CCD) used to rip things in separate files-which may be the case in this situation.
